Tom Bradshaw called up to Wales squad due to Gareth Bale injury blow

Wales call up Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw to the squad after Gareth Bale was ruled out of World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and the Republic of Ireland.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has handed a late call-up to Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw for World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and the Republic of Ireland.

The 25-year-old comes into the fold as a result of Gareth Bale's hamstring injury, which has forced him out of both matches.

The prolific attacker was already a doubt due to being left out of Real Madrid's squad for Sunday's 2-0 win over Espanyol in La Liga.

A statement from the Football Association of Wales read: "Following dialogue with Real Madrid, Bale was sent for a scan and results confirmed that he wouldn't be fit to feature."

Bradshaw, who made his international debut in March last year, will join up with the rest of the Wales squad later today.

The Dragons currently sit second in Group D.
