David Vaughan out for Wales

David Vaughan will miss Wales's World Cup qualification clash against Scotland with a groin injury.

Wales midfielder David Vaughan has been ruled out of their World Cup qualification clash against Scotland on Friday.

The Sunderland midfielder, who played the 90 minutes for his club in their 1-1 draw with Norwich City at the weekend, will miss the encounter with a groin injury.

However, it is understood that the experienced international could be fit to face Croatia next week should he train at the weekend.

Gareth Bale remains a doubt with an ankle injury, with reports also suggesting that he is suffering from a slight illness.
