Spaniard will make alterations to his Hornets side at Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Javi Gracia admits he will once again rotate his Watford side when they travel to face Bournemouth.

The Hornets boss was left defending his decision to make six changes for the visit of Newcastle on Saturday – with Abdoulaye Doucoure coming off the bench to salvage a 1-1 draw.

Captain Troy Deeney was another surprise omission from the starting line-up against the Magpies as Gracia made use of his squad.

The Spaniard said he "did not agree" that six alterations was too many to get a positive result before revealing he will make more changes at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.

"I don't know how many," he replied when asked if he will make another six changes on the south coast.

"But some changes we have to do for sure. I'm very happy with the players I have in the squad in this moment. With all of them."

Gracia took charge of Watford on January 21, 2018 and has never managed over the busy festive period in England before.

He will also oversee a full winter transfer window at Vicarage Road for the first time – but remains completely focused on a result at Bournemouth rather than considering any potential signings in the coming weeks.

"At this moment I don't have time to prepare the next game and think about transfers," he added. "When I speak with the owner I'm sure he will explain the situation. At this moment I need to prepare for the next game.

"I don't know if we need many new things. We have to keep doing the things we have done until now.

"I like to be demanding with ourselves because that's the best way to improve ourselves, the club and all of us. I like to be demanding but on the other hand I like to give value to my players and I think in this moment they are doing many things well.

"We need to finish better and do many things better, but it is the way we have to live different moments in this season. But the attitude is important, our mentality is good. We try to keep that in the new year."
