Watford manager Marco Silva reiterates that he intends to keep his playing squad intact come the end of the January transfer window.

Marco Silva has promised Watford supporters that none of his playing squad will leave the club in the January transfer window, including star midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The Hornets beat Leicester City last time out to leave themselves just inside the top half of the division ahead of the visit of bottom side Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

Watford are on the lookout for new recruits next month, but just as importantly to manager Silva is keeping his current crop in place for the second half of the campaign.

"Doucoure has a long contract with us. If we want to change something with his contract, if the player is doing very well, it is up to us," he told reporters.

"This possibility of him leaving the club, nobody has talked with me about this situation. Our board has already made its statement - nobody will leave the club in the January market.

"What we need to do is to improve our squad and not to allow people to leave. It is normal when you are in the window and it is a good sign if the market focuses on our players. It shows our players are doing well."

Watford are said to have offered Doucore another new contract at Vicarage Road, which would make him their joint-highest earner.
