Boaz Myhill happy with "great point"

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill describes his side's 1-1 draw with Leicester City as a "great point".

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has talked up the importance of his side's 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this evening.

The Baggies took the lead through Nacer Chadli's free kick shortly after the hour mark, but an equaliser from Riyad Mahrez with 10 minutes of the match remaining ensured that the spoils were shared.

Myhill's night could have ended prematurely after he brought down Jamie Vardy as the last man in the opening stages of the second half, but referee Mike Dean only produced a yellow card and the keeper - in for the injured Ben Foster - saw out the game despite clearly struggling with an injury of his own.

"It is a great point, a battling point. A great free kick, gutted we couldn't hold on but they are a tough team in a difficult moment," he told Sky Sports News.

"I was put in a situation where I had to take one for the team, thankfully they didn't score and thankfully I didn't get sent off. We both went into each other, I'll let the people who watch on TV decide who did what.

"It was all one thing. I tried to get up and see how it was, it wasn't great. I think it was [a dead leg]. I hadn't played for a year, I wasn't coming off. No chance."

The point is enough to see the Baggies move back into the top half of the table, although they are now without a win in six league games.
