Steve Clarke relieved by first West Bromwich Albion win

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke admits that it is a relief to see his side record their first win of the Premier League season.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has admitted that it was a relief to see his side pick up their first win of the Premier League season on Saturday.

The Baggies defeated Sunderland 3-0 at The Hawthorns thanks to goals from Stephane Sessegnon, Liam Ridgewell and Morgan Amalfitano.

"When you have to wait this long for your first win there is some relief," Clarke told BBC Sport.

"It has been frustrating - particularly at home the performances haven't always been good. [Against Sunderland] we got the breaks and we ran out deserved winners."

Saturday's victory saw West Brom move up to 13th place in the Premier League table.
