Steve Clarke: "There is a long way to go"

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke urges fans to control their high expectations for this season by insisting that "there is a long way to go".

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has urged supporters to control their high expectations for the current season by insisting that "there is a long way to go".

The Baggies moved up to third in the Premier League table when they overcame Reading 1-0 at The Hawthorns earlier today, courtesy of a second-half Romelu Lukaku strike.

"We just kept plugging away," said Clarke. "It was always going to be a tight game and you could see halfway through that it might be the case that the first goal wins it.

"It is pleasing to look at the stats at the moment but there is a long way to go."

West Brom have won all three of their home matches this season without conceding a single goal.
