James Morrison disappointed for sacked Alan Irvine

West Brom midfielder James Morrison admits that he was sad to see Alan Irvine sacked as manager of the team.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison has admitted that it was hard to see Alan Irvine sacked as manager of the team.

Irvine was dismissed by the Baggies on Monday after less than seven months in charge at The Hawthorns.

With former Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis poised to join the club, Morrison has suggested that Irvine was unfortunate to lose his job.

"It's never easy to see a head coach go. Every week you give your all for the head coach and the bond with the players was strong," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"You could probably see in the performances that we were all trying our hardest, the club have made a decision and it's time to move on. We've had a meeting and you've got to quickly put it to bed because we've got a game coming up and that's the main focus."

West Brom return to action tomorrow when they face West Ham United at Upton Park.
