Youssouf Mulumbu calls on supporters

Youssouf Mulumbu calls on West Bromwich Albion supporters to make The Hawthorns "a scary place" for the weekend visit of Cardiff City.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has called on supporters to make The Hawthorns "a scary place" for the visit of Cardiff City.

The Baggies go into Saturday's relegation clash three points above the drop zone, while the Bluebirds are also in desperate need of points in 19th position.

"When I'm chasing the ball and I hear my song it refreshes my mind and legs, and I feel like 'I'm going to do this for the fans'," Mulumbu is quoted as saying by the club's official website.

"It's all motivation on the pitch; it's really important – and the fans have to know that. Even when you win a free-kick or corner and they start shouting, we know we are at home - and the opponent feels that.

"We need to show Cardiff this is going to be a long afternoon and we're there to win. I hope our fans can make The Hawthorns a scary place for Cardiff to play on Saturday. We want to do everything to stay in the Premier League and that's for the fans because they don't deserve to go to the Championship."

The 27-year-old joined West Brom in 2009 from Paris Saint-Germain.
