Report: West Bromwich Albion takeover close to completion

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly close to finalising a takeover deal with Chinese investors after two years of deliberations.

A proposed takeover of Premier League side West Bromwich Albion will be completed within the next fortnight, according to a report.

The Baggies are expected to become the latest English top-flight side to fall into foreign hands, with Chinese investors hoping to get a deal over the line this month.

It is claimed by The Mirror that Albion owner Jeremy Peace is close to ending the two-year process by sealing a £150m takeover for the West Midlands outfit.

Peace will likely step down from his current position once a deal has been completed, while chief executive Mark Jenkins could follow to spark a new era at The Hawthorns.

West Brom, who finished 14th in the Premier League last season, have so far added Matt Phillips to their ranks this summer and are said to be after Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp.
