Pepe Mel aims to "lift" West Bromwich Albion team after dropping points

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel insists that he needs to "lift" his players following Saturday's 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel has insisted that he will try to "lift" the team's spirits following Saturday's late draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Baggies were up 3-0 at the Hawthorns within 31 minutes, but eventually relinquished maximum points in a 3-3 draw against the North London outfit.

Mel's side now have the task of preparing for next Monday's clash against Premier League title challengers Manchester City.

"The biggest job now that the technical team has is to lift the players," Mel told the club's official website. "The players have done well and they deserve to have more points.

"We don't consider we will lose to Manchester City. We also have two very important home games against West Ham and Stoke and an extremely important trip to Sunderland. If we keep doing things in the vain we have then things will go for us."

West Brom are currently three points above the relegation zone with five games left to play.
