West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis admits that his fate is out of his hands but is happy to "keep ploughing along" if he is not sacked.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has said that he is willing to "keep ploughing along" at the club if the owners decide not to sack him.

A 4-0 humiliation at home to Chelsea this afternoon left the Baggies without a win in the Premier League since the second matchday of the season.

The result also condemned Pulis's side to their fourth straight league loss and leaves them just one point above the relegation zone with the possibility of falling into the bottom three tomorrow if West Ham United pick up a result at Watford.

Pulis has previously admitted that it would not be a surprise if he were to be sacked by the club's Chinese owners and reiterated his stance after today's "poor" game.

"Our defending for all of the goals was really poor," he told reporters. "We had opportunities but the defending today was very poor. Against the top teams you have to defend better than that.

"It leaves me in the position I was in before the game. The board of directors will decide what they have to do. I have been in this position before. It's up to them. I feel for the players they have worked hard but they have made basic mistakes.

"I spoke to the owners yesterday, they are really decent people. It's not about them, it's about what's best for the football club. That is more important than anybody. It's a decision they have to make. I'll keep ploughing along if they want me to do.

"In any job, if it doesn't go well, you will be under pressure. We have left a lot of points on the pitch this season. The supporters were fantastic today, they kept with the team. I got some stick but you expect that."

Next up for the Baggies is another tough encounter - away at title challengers Tottenham Hotspur - next Saturday.
