George Thorne joins Watford

Watford sign West Bromwich Albion midfielder George Thorne on a loan deal until early January.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder George Thorne has signed for Watford on a loan basis with immediate effect.

The 20-year-old will remain at Vicarage Road until the beginning of January, but West Brom reserve the right to recall his services after 28 days.

"The move should give Thorne the chance to get essential match time under his belt as he steps up his comeback from a long-term knee injury," read a statement on West Brom's official website.

Thorne is expected to be in the Watford squad for this weekend's trip to Middlesbrough.
