Tony Pulis hints at Saido Berahino recall

Saido Berahino may return to the West Bromwich Albion starting lineup over the festive period, according to manager Tony Pulis.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has suggested that Saido Berahino will feature for the club over the festive period.

The 22-year-old, who is known to have wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has recently been dropped down to the Under-21s.

However, having been impressed by Berahino's displays in training of late, Pulis revealed that the 22-year-old will be in contention for the trip to Swansea City on Boxing Day and then the home encounter against Newcastle United two days later.

"We have got a tough Christmas period so the players will be played," the boss told reporters.

"Given the way [Berahino] has trained the last couple of days, given the opportunity, hopefully he takes the opportunity to show what he can do."

Berahino has scored three goals from his 12 Premier League outings this season.
