West Bromwich Albion are apparently pondering an audacious move for out-of-contract former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
The Frenchman is a free agent after his short-term deal with Serie A giants Juventus expired at the end of the season.
Baggies manager Steve Clarke worked with the 34-year-old during his time as Blues assistant manager and is contemplating a possible reunion, according to the Daily Mail.
The same source claims that West Brom are keeping tabs on two other ex-Chelsea forwards, Salomon Kalou and Franco di Santo, as they look to replace their top goalscorer from last season, Romelu Lukaku, who has returned to Stamford Bridge following a year-long loan.
Anelka has previously played in the Premier League with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers, as well as with Clarke at Chelsea.
