Michail Antonio is reportedly set to miss four months of action at West Ham United due to a hamstring injury.

Michail Antonio will reportedly miss four months of action for West Ham United due to a hamstring injury.

The striker picked up the injury during West Ham's 2-0 success over Newport County in the EFL Cup last week and successfully underwent surgery.

Antonio, who features mainly as a winger for West Ham, has encountered problems with his left hamstring over the last five months.

According to the Evening Standard, the 29-year-old is expected to miss up to four months, which means he is unlikely to return until 2020.

Following summer departures for Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez, Antonio's injury has left Manuel Pellegrini short of options in attack.

The Hammers suffered a 5-0 drubbing by Manchester City on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 campaign but have since responded well by claiming comfortable wins over Watford and Norwich City in the Premier League.
