Matt Jarvis insists that West Ham will only start looking to climb the Premier League table once they have guaranteed their safety for next season.

West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis has claimed that the team will only start looking to climb the Premier League table once they have guaranteed their safety.

The Hammers are currently nine points above the relegation zone following last weekend's 1-0 win at Stoke City.

"First things first, we want to make sure we guarantee our safety," Jarvis told the club's official website. "Once we've done that, then we're going to push on and look how far we can go."

West Ham return to league action next Saturday when they make the short trip to London rivals Chelsea.
