West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has confirmed that the club will not be signing Joey Barton.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who is a free agent after leaving Queens Park Rangers this summer, reportedly had a medical with the Hammers earlier this week.
The former England man's pending arrival at Upton Park led to a backlash from West Ham supporters, and Gold has taken to social media to rule out a transfer.
"Despite the speculation, Joey Barton will not be joining West Ham United," he wrote on Twitter.
Barton has also been linked with a move to Watford.
