Brazilian striker Wellington Paulista believes that he has the tools to succeed in the Premier League after signing a loan deal with West Ham United this week.

New West Ham United striker Wellington Paulista has declared that he has the quality to succeed at Upton Park and in the Premier League.

Paulista signed for the Hammers on a season-long loan from Cruizero earlier this week, where he scored 27 times last season.

The Brazilian believes that he can handle the pressure of producing consistently in East London because he is used to fanatical support in his native country.

He told the club's official TV channel: "I think I can do my best here and I am coming to England to prove to everyone that I am one of the best strikers in Brazil and to get better and better.

"I am strong, I am a fighter and I can score with both feet. I run a lot on the pitch and I can play as either as first or second striker.

"The pressure will not be a problem for me because I am used to it from my time in Brazil, where the fans were really addicted to the club. The manager also put pressure on the players too, so it will be the same playing here."

Wellington joins Marouane Chamakh, Joe Cole and Sean Maguire in a list of January captures by Hammers boss Sam Allardyce in a busy fortnight at Upton Park.
