Uwe Rosler: 'I missed Ben Watson's winner'

Uwe Rosler admits that he was not watching when Ben Watson scored the goal to put Wigan Athletic into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has admitted that he did not see Ben Watson's winning goal in his side's FA Cup fifth-round victory over Cardiff City on Saturday.

Rosler was also quick to credit his opposite number Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who he feels is the right man for the job at Cardiff.

"I didn't [see] the second goal," he told PA. "I just turned around and the ball was in. I wanted to compete against the best teams in the country and Cardiff today gave us the possibility, and we stood our own ground very well.

"We are friends and Ole Gunnar is a winner. I said that before the game. He knew exactly what he got himself into coming to Cardiff and he can make it happen.

"He knows exactly what he's doing and you see already what he tried to achieve in terms of styles of play. He wants to attack and he will be fine. I have no worries about that."

Wigan are the current holders of the FA Cup.
