Emyr Huws has declared that his target for the season will be to help Wigan Athletic secure promotion after moving to the club on loan from Manchester City.
The 20-year-old midfielder signed a new two-year deal with the Premier League champions before his six-month loan was confirmed, and he is determined to play a key role in a successful campaign for Uwe Rosler's side.
"I'm really happy to be here," Huws told Wigan's official website. "As a person, I want to improve myself and I want to play as much as I can, but I've come to try and help the team to win and to get promotion - that's the main goal.
"I've spoken to the gaffer, he's very enthusiastic, he's very precise about what he wants me to do and he's explained that to me. The Championship is very competitive, there are a lot of teams pushing for the top and we're going to have to be at our best to make sure we get a good start to the season."
Wigan begin their season by hosting Reading on Saturday afternoon.
