Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur says that his side will have to focus on their clash against Queens Park Rangers following their defeat to Newcastle United.

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur has insisted that he and his teammates must look ahead to this weekend's match against Queens Park Rangers following their disappointment at St James's Park.

The Latics succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United last night but McArthur has claimed that Wigan need to focus on the "biggest game of the season".

"Newcastle was a disappointing game despite us playing very good football for spells," McArthur told the club's official website. "But we've got a massive match against QPR at the weekend and that has to be the main focus from now on.

"It is the biggest game of the season now in terms of trying to show people how we can battle against adversity like we did last season."

Wigan currently sit two places above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
