Wigan Athletic midfielder Paul Scharner predicts a "tough end" to the Premier League season for his side following Sunday's 1-1 draw at QPR.

Wigan Athletic midfielder Paul Scharner has predicted a "tough end" to the season for his side following Sunday's 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League.

Despite Shaun Maloney's last-minute equaliser at Loftus Road, the result has left the Latics in the relegation zone on goal difference with seven fixtures to play.

"We're just relieved to get a point in the end," Scharner told BBC Sport. "We started very nervously and you could feel the fear in the team.

"We're on 31 points now and we need another three wins. It will be a tough end to the season."

Wigan are in FA Cup semi-final action next weekend when they take on Millwall at Wembley Stadium.
