Wigan racism row

Wigan Athletic appointed manager Malky Mackay in November, three months after the Scotsman was accused of sending racist, homophobic and sexist text messages during his time at Cardiff City.
Shortly after the appointment, anti-discrimination groups criticised Wigan's move due to the ongoing investigation by the FA. Just days after Mackay's arrival, Latics chairman Dave Whelan also became the subject of an FA probe after allegedly using anti-Semitic comments in an interview.
