Kenny Jackett: 'Results are not good enough for Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett insists that his side are "good enough" to challenge for the top six, but admits that results drastically need to improve.

Kenny Jackett has conceded that he is under pressure to start picking up victories at Wolverhampton Wanderers following a four-game winless run.

Going further back it is now just one win in eight league outings for Wolves, who find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the playoffs.

Jackett admits that, while performances have improved, his side must find some momentum heading into the busy festive period if they are to challenge for a place among the top six once again.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "While we all want to be patient, results need to come in football. In terms of where we are, the difference between fourth bottom and sixth tells a story of where we are as a team. Performances do give you encouragement that results are around the corner, but it's results ultimately that dictate. With the winter coming now we want to join the top group - we feel we're good enough to do it and have the spirit to do it.

"We're seven points off sixth, but sixth off fourth from bottom. Which group are we going to join? We feel we play good football, our technical ability is good and we try to play the right way, but you've got to win doing it as well. The top five have just broken away a bit. For us, points wise we're close to either end, and it's upwards we want to be looking.

"It's okay saying that, we have to make sure we do it. It does come down to results. The things that lead up to that can be discussed and I'm quite happy to talk to anybody about those, in terms of talking to the press or fans forums. I do know and I do understand it has to translate to wins. The bottom line is results and I can understand the supporters' frustration because even in recent home games there haven't been enough wins."

Wolves head to Rotherham United this weekend aiming to build on three successive draws, including a goalless stalemate at MK Dons last time out.
