Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly been given a boost in their efforts to sign Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that the Championship winners are ready to do battle with Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Portugal international.
According to Diario de Noticias, Wolves now appear favourites for the experienced stopper due to Napoli not being prepared to bid over €20m (£17.66m).
Sporting do not want to sell the 30-year-old, who still has over four years remaining on his contract, but any interested clubs can open negotiations if they meet the player's release clause of £30.66m.
Wolves are seemingly prepared to spend big during the summer transfer window, and the newly-promoted Premier League side have already been linked with a £35m approach for Stoke City's Jack Butland.
