Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a fee with Bolton Wanderers for defender Sam Ricketts but may face competition for his signature, according to reports.
Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has told the full-back that he is not part of his plans at the Reebok Stadium, which resulted in Wolves registering an interest in the 31-year-old.
However, according to the Express & Star, Ricketts could open talks with a number of Championship clubs after they became encouraged about the defender's availability.
Wolves have agreed a fee for the former Swansea City player, but the Molineux outfit may have to offload members of their squad before they can try to complete a deal.
