Craig Noone's second-half free kick earns Cardiff City a draw at home to Bolton Wanderers in the Championship this afternoon.

Cardiff City have been held to a 1-1 draw by Bolton Wanderers in the Championship this afternoon.

The visitors arrived in Wales hoping to secure a playoff spot, but were unable to hold on for the win after taking a first-half lead.

The already-crowned Championship winners started brightly with Jordon Mutch forcing a great save out of Adam Bogdan in the first minute.

They continued to dominate possession, but could only manage a few long-range efforts that didn't really test Bogdan before, against the run of play, Bolton took the lead.

Chris Eagles linked up well on the right with Sam Ricketts, before the former Manchester United man surged forward into the box and fired the ball past David Marshall.

Some more good pay from Eagles set up Darren Pratley moments later, but this time Marshall was able to deny Bolton a second goal before half time.

Cardiff began well again in the second period, with Craig Bellamy's surging runs causing a few problems for the visitors, before substitute Tommy Smith forced a sharp save from Bogdan.

Five minutes later they were level, when Craig Noone curled a free kick over the wall and into the top corner.

The Bluebirds pushed for late winner, but had to settle for a point in the end after a pretty even game.
