Nico Rosberg eases to Russian Grand Prix win

Nico Rosberg continues his winning start to the 2016 Formula 1 campaign thanks to a victory in Russia.

Nico Rosberg extended his lead at the top of the world championship to 43 points thanks to victory at this afternoon's Russian Grand Prix.

The German began on pole position in Sochi and ended up leading the race from start to finish to maintain his 100% winning start in 2016.

Meanwhile, Rosberg's Mercedes teammate and defending champion Lewis Hamilton recovered from 10th on the grid to claim second spot.

Third went to Kimi Raikkonen, but there was not such positive news for Sebastian Vettel in the other Ferrari.

He was hit twice by Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat in two different corners during the first lap and was forced to retire as a result.
