Rory McIlroy has taken a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the US PGA Championship at Valhalla.
The 25-year-old followed up his first-round 66 to move onto nine-under-par with a four-under 67.
Play was suspended for 45 minutes because of rain in Louisville and McIlroy made a slow start after dropping a shot at the 12th hole.
However, the world number one birdied two of his last three holes to finish the day two shots ahead of Ryan Palmer, who carded a one-under-par 70.
"I didn't get off to the best of starts but I righted the ship well, caught fire a little bit round the turn and am really happy with four under par," BBC Sport quotes McIlroy as saying.
"I'm feeling good about my game, I'm confident and hitting the ball well for the most part. I'm in control of my game and my emotions and I will need to do that over the weekend as well."
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has missed the cut after carding a second-round 74.
