Scarves belonging to rival Portuguese football clubs have reportedly been removed from Benfica's statue of legend Eusebio following the former striker's death.
The Benfica legend passed away on Sunday following reports of a cardiac arrest at the age of 71.
Football fans came together to mourn his passing, with Porto and Sporting supporters paying their respects by laying scarves at the Eusebio statue outside of Benfica's stadium.
However, it is understood that non-Benfica merchandise was removed from the site by a security guard on the day that Eusebio was laid to rest, according to 101greatgoals.com.
Eusebio won 10 league championships, five Portuguese cups and the European Cup with Benfica.
