Manchester United are reportedly set to miss out on the signing of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa.
The 27-year-old has been a useful asset for the Villans since his switch from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen during the summer of 2021.
Bailey has featured on 137 occasions for Villa, scoring 21 goals, helping the club move from relegation contenders to Champions League hopefuls.
The Jamaica international is certainly not lacking game time at this stage of the campaign, with the winger playing in 20 Premier League matches for Unai Emery's side.
Bailey has arguably struggled to produce enough attacking output for the Villans, though, scoring just once and providing two assists across 20 appearances in the top flight.

Man United to miss out on Bailey?
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United have suffered a blow in the race for the services of a Premier League star during the final knockings of the window.
The report claims that the Red Devils are preparing to miss out on the signature of Bailey, who is set to remain at Villa Park for the remainder of the campaign.
It is understood that the Villans are unlikely to allow the 27-year-old to leave the club before the 11pm deadline given his importance to the team.
Emery's side have already lost a key attacker during the final stages of the window, with striker Jhon Duran moving to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr.
As well as the Red Devils, it is believed that Tottenham Hotspur submitted an enquiry regarding the availability of Bailey in recent times.

United's search for an attacker
With Marcus Rashford linking up with Villa on loan for the rest of the campaign, Ruben Amorim's men are searching for attacking reinforcements before the end of the window.
It is said that Man United were keen on a deal for Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel, although negotiations for an Old Trafford switch for the Frenchman supposedly collapsed.
With both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to start the Red Devils' most recent match, there is an argument that Amorim needs to recruit a central striker before the deadline.
