St Helens came from behind to beat Castleford Tigers 40-24 in the Super League.

The home side had the better start, scoring three tries in the opening half hour, but efforts from Thomas Makinson and Jonny Lomax just kept Saints in touch at half time.

The visitors upped their game after the break, with Makinson completing his hat-trick with two further tries, as Jordan Turner, Alex Walmsley and Luke Thompson also got on the score sheet.

Rangi Chase gave the home side some late hope, scoring their fifth try of the match in the 78th minute, but his teammates were unable to add to the score further.

The result leaves St Helens seventh in the Super League table.
