Catalans Dragons overcome Castleford Tigers challenge

Catalans Dragons get back to winning ways in the Super League with a 39-30 triumph at home to Castleford Tigers.

Catalans Dragons have ended a run of two consecutive defeats in the Super League with a 39-30 triumph at home to Castleford Tigers.

Daryl Millard and Jordan Thompson exchanged tries during the opening eight minutes before Vincent Duport and Louis Anderson stretched the Dragons' lead.

Steve Menzies and Morgan Escare also went over in the first half for the hosts, while 10 points from the boot of Thomas Bosc gave Catalans a 30-4 advantage at half time.

Thompson and Justin Carney both touched down after the interval for the away side, but Eloi Pelissier stretched the Dragons' advantage when his score was converted by Bosc on 53 minutes.

The Tigers staged a late fightback through tries from Carney and Daryl Clark, only for Bosc's drop goal to see Catalans over the line.
