Wakefield Trinity Wildcats head coach Brian Smith has confirmed that Kevin Locke is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign.
The full-back was replaced in the first half of Wakey's 58-20 defeat to Castleford Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
It was just the 26-year-old's third appearance for the club since joining from Salford Red Devils, but he is unlikely to play any further part this term.
"It's not looking good, almost certainly season ending," Smith told BBC Sport. "It's serious, sort of chest and upper arm, it's to do with his pectoral and maybe ligaments."
Trinity have signed Lee Smith from rugby union side Newcastle Falcons as cover until the end of the season.
