Billy Vunipola unaware of bonus point rule during England win

Billy Vunipola says that he was unaware of the bonus point rule in the World Cup as he scored England's fourth try of the game against Fiji.

Billy Vunipola has said that he was unaware he had scored a bonus point-clinching try in England's 35-11 World Cup-opening win over Fiji.

The hosts were given a stern test throughout the game as they overcame their resilient opponents in a less-than-convincing victory.

Vunipola came off the bench after 52 minutes to score England's fourth try of the game but says that he didn't know he had secured an extra point for his side.

"To be truthfully honest with you, I didn't know that bonus points counted in the World Cup," Vunipola is quoted as saying by ITV Sport.

"I was just more excited that I'd scored a try. It's always good to get over for your country.

"I'm just happy we won and we move on to the next game."

England face Wales at Twickenham next week.
