England captain Chris Robshaw: 'It was a tough match against Fiji'

England captain Chris Robshaw admits that Fiji were tough to crack in his side's 35-11 victory in the Rugby World Cup opener at Twickenham.

England captain Chris Robshaw has admitted that his side found it tough to overcome a resilient Fiji side in their 35-11 victory in the Rugby World Cup opener.

Stuart Lancaster's men took command of the match when they were awarded a penalty try, while Mike Brown charged over the line in the 22nd minute. However, Nemani Nadolo got a score back for Fiji to put the pressure on the Red Rose.

The host nation were forced to wait until eight minutes from time before Brown put the game beyond doubt, while Billy Vunipola secured the bonus point in the dying seconds.

Robshaw told BBC Sport: "With the emotion of the opening ceremony there were nerves, but now we're into it. The opening game can be edgy and you have to give a lot of credit to Fiji.

"We knew it was going to be tough. We knew it would come down to the last five or 10 minutes because Fiji were hard to break down. The bonus point might be hugely important."

England play Wales in their next Group A clash next Saturday.
