England were outplayed in every department by Ireland in yesterday's Six Nations clash, according to former Scotland international Ian Robertson.
Ireland won the match in Dublin 19-9, largely thanks to the kicking ability of fly-half Jonathan Sexton, and Robertson was impressed with how dominant Ireland were.
He told BBC Sport: "England were outplayed and Ireland did everything much better. The defences on both sides were phenomenal but the initiative was with Ireland for about 65-70 minutes. England did pummel that Irish line for 10 minutes but without reward.
"Paul O'Connell was everywhere, amazing for a man of 35. This wasn't just a lucky performance from Ireland. They are a committed, well-prepared team and Joe Schmidt has masterminded it all and they deserve to be in pole position."
Ireland are top of the Six Nations table and next face Wales in two weeks.
