The new coach of New Zealand will be revealed on Friday, earlier than initial indications suggested.

The new coach of New Zealand will be revealed on Friday, earlier than initial indications suggested.

The position has been vacant since Graham Henry stepped down at the end of the All Blacks' World Cup-winning campaign in October.

The official All Blacks Twitter account revealed that his replacement would be named on "Friday arvo".

World Cup-winning assistant coach Steve Hansen is favourite to land the job.
