Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder has stated that he did not apply to be the new England head coach.
The deadline for applications passed on Wednesday, and Mallinder was amongst the favourites to succeed Martin Johnson at the helm.
Mallinder, however, has claimed that his focus remains with Northampton.
"No, I've not applied. It's probably the best job in the world coaching wise. What a great opportunity. But it's got to be the right thing at the right time. At the moment I'm concerned with getting Northampton to win something," Mallinder told the BBC.
Wayne Smith has also ruled himself out of the running.
