Scotland fly-half Dan Parks has expressed his desire to reclaim a starting spot in Scotland's World Cup team.
Parks has not started a match since February's defeat to Wales but has been handed a role from the beginning by coach Andy Robinson for Saturday's warm-up fixture against Italy.
The 33-year-old Cardiff Blues man has revealed that he is keen to impress at the weekend and force his way into Robinson's 30-man squad for the World Cup in New Zealand.
"I had a long run there for a while and was on the bench for the last couple of games in the Six Nations, which was obviously disappointing," said Parks.
"I've had a good pre-season and I'm ready and raring to go and hopefully things will go well this weekend.
"It's about pressing for selection to get on [the World Cup squad]. You've got to play well this weekend in order to get there," he added.
Parks had made 61 appearances for Scotland.
