Scotland to appeal Ross Ford, Jonny Gray bans?

Scotland are reportedly considering lodging an appeal against the three-match bans handed out to Ross Ford and Jonny Gray.

Scotland are reportedly considering appealing the three-match bans handed out to Ross Ford and Jonny Gray.

The forward pair were ruled out for the remainder of the Rugby World Cup having been cited for dangerous tackles during their clash with Samoa at the weekend.

Vern Cotter's side take on Australia in their quarter-final at Twickenham on Sunday, and will make a decision on whether they appeal the suspensions within the next day.

However, it is understood that Scotland are resigned to being without both players for that match, with their best hopes to see the punishments reduced should they shock the Wallabies to progress further in the tournament.
