Bryan Habana has said that South Africa must "get some continuity going" to be contenders to win the Rugby World Cup.
The winger scored a try in the 46-6 win over Samoa at Villa Park this evening, giving the team their first win after they were beaten by Japan in their opening fixture.
Speaking to Sports Mole after the match, Habana said: "Scoring a try for your country is always really special. Singing that national anthem was almost as special as singing it back in South Africa. My role is the side is always to contribute, not just by scoring a try but also about leadership. We were able to step us as senior players.
"I think everyone did well tonight, but hopefully we can get some continuity going, because I think in a World Cup when you perform consistently, you wanna stick with the same formula. We'll see what went well today, we'll see what went wrong, and hopefully we can carry on building on that.
"We understand how much we let the jersey down and how much we let the country down. To be able to receive that amount of support, it was fitting that we put up the performance that we did tonight. To see people waiting 90 minutes after the game is remarkable, it's something you can't really describe. It's a massive privilege and a massive honour to be able to do what we do.
"To be able to see people support you makes it all worth while at the end of the day, so we'll definitely go sign some autographs and take some selfies."
South Africa face Scotland in their next match in Newcastle on October 3.
