Petra Kvitova has reached the fourth round of the Australian Open after Maria Kirilenko was forced to retire through injury.
The world number two was dominating her opponent in the first set before Kirilenko called the physiotherapist to attend to her left thigh.
With heavy strapping on her leg, the Russian slumped to a 6-0 first-set defeat.
After only one game in the second, Kirilenko was forced to put a halt to proceedings as she conceded the match.
