Jo Wilfried-Tsonga fought off a strong challenge from Go Soeda this morning to keep his Australian Open campaign alive.
Tsonga used his pace and power to quickly establish a one-set advantage against his experienced Japanese opponent.
Soeda rallied in the second and claimed an early break to build a 5-2 lead as Tsonga struggled in the Melbourne heat.

Tsonga closed out the match despite being put under pressure by a spirited Soeda to win in straight sets 6-3 7-6(1) 6-3 and progress to round three.
