Andy Murray eases past Borna Coric

Andy Murray gives Great Britain a 1-0 advantage in their Davis Cup World Group playoff tie with Croatia after a comfortable win over Borna Coric.

Andy Murray has beaten Borna Coric in straight sets to give Great Britain a 1-0 advantage over Croatia in their Davis Cup World Group playoff.

The world number three had far too much firepower for his 16-year-old opponent as he comfortably recorded a 6-3 6-0 6-3 triumph.

Coric impressed during the opening six games of the match, before Murray took control to take the first set in 48 minutes.

The Croatian teenager wilted in the following set as the Wimbledon champion attacked his serve to take a bagel set.

The Brit slipped 3-1 behind at the start of the third, but he roared back to give his side an early lead in the tie.
