Nicolas Almagro has booked his spot in the third round of the French Open with a 6-2 6-4 6-3 victory over Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
The Spaniard took control in the early stages of the first set, breaking at 1-0 before serving his way into a 3-0 lead. Roger-Vasselin did hold his next two service games, but another break at 5-2 moved Almagro into a one-set lead.
The second set was a much tighter affair with just three breaks of serve, but two of those arrived for Almagro, importantly at 4-5 as he claimed the second set with a powerful forehand.
The Spaniard broke just once in the third, but he continued to serve well as he claimed the third 6-3 to book his spot in the next round of the competition.
