Nicolas Almagro overturned a one-set deficit to reach round two of the French Open thanks to a 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-3 victory over Andreas Haider-Maurer this afternoon.
It looked as though world number 110 Haider-Maurer was going to cause an upset in Paris when he took the opening set with one break of his Spanish opponent's serve.
However, Almagro responded during the next three sets and a single break in each of those allowed him to advance through to the second round in two hours and 16 minutes.
The world number 13 has reached the quarter-finals at Roland Garros on three separate occasions.
