Jo-Wilfried Tsonga moved into round three of the French Open this afternoon thanks to a 7-6 6-4 6-3 victory over Jarkko Nieminen.
The first set proved to be even and with no breaks of serve secured, a tie-break was reached. It appeared that Nieminen was going to take a one-set lead when he was 6-5 in front, but Tsonga responded by winning three points in succession.
The Frenchman then went on to break in the fifth game of the next two sets to secure his spot in the next round, dropping just eight points on his serve in the process.
He will now take on either Roberto Bautista Agut or compatriot Jeremy Chardy for a place in round four at Roland Garros.
