Jelena Jankovic cruises past Caroline Wozniacki

Jelena Jankovic cruises to a 6-3 6-1 win over Caroline Wozniacki at the BNP Paribas Open.

Jelena Jankovic has taken just over an hour to secure a win over Carolina Wozniacki at the BNP Paribas Open.

The two former world number ones seemed well matched at the start of the first set, but the Serbian was able to race ahead after clinching the opening break of the match.

Wozniacki struggled with her serve, gifting Jankovic three set points after making her first double fault of the match, before a slow second serve to avoid another gave the seventh seed an easy return to take a one-set lead.

Jankovic continued to get stronger in the second, wrapping up the first five games before the 10th seed battled to her first hold of the set.

However, Jankovic kept her cool to serve out the match in the next game, setting up a meeting with either Alize Cornet or Agnieszka Radwanska in the next round.
